Terms of Service

GetToKnow ("Service") is operated by ECom24 Ltd ("we", "our", or "us"), a company registered in Scotland, United Kingdom. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

GetToKnow is a professional profile service that allows you to create a mobile-first profile page from your CV. The Service uses AI to extract and summarise information from your uploaded documents, and provides you with a shareable link and QR code.

When using our Service:

• a. You must provide accurate and complete registration information
• b. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• c. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• d. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account

Publishing your profile requires a paid subscription. You can create and preview your profile for free, but a subscription is required to make it publicly accessible.

• a. Subscriptions are billed annually at the current rate
• b. New subscriptions include a 14-day free trial
• c. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period
• d. Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods

Important: The Service uses artificial intelligence (OpenAI GPT-4o) to process your CV and generate profile content.

• a. AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions
• b. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated content before publishing
• c. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated content
• d. We are not liable for any damages arising from reliance on AI-generated content
• e. You may edit all content before and after publishing

You retain ownership of all content you submit to the Service, including your CV, profile information, and any edits you make. By using the Service, you grant us a licence to display your public profile content to others.

You are responsible for ensuring that your content:

• a. Is accurate and truthful
• b. Does not infringe any third-party rights
• c. Does not contain unlawful or harmful material

You agree not to:

• a. Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• b. Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity
• c. Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
• d. Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• e. Use the Service to distribute spam or malware
• f. Scrape or harvest data from the Service
• g. Use automated systems, bots, or scripts to access the Service without our prior written permission

The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by ECom24 Ltd and is protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in the Privacy Policy.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

We specifically disclaim any warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of AI-generated content. You acknowledge that AI systems can produce incorrect or misleading information, and you assume full responsibility for verifying any content before relying on it.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ECom24 Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly.

This includes, without limitation, any damages arising from errors or inaccuracies in AI-generated content, loss of employment opportunities, or reputational harm.

Our total liability for any claims arising from or relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or fifty British pounds (£50), whichever is greater.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ECom24 Ltd and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your content, or violation of these Terms.

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

You may delete your account at any time through Settings > Account > Delete Account. Account deletion is immediate and permanent - all your personal data, profiles, uploaded files, and saved contacts will be irreversibly erased in accordance with UK GDPR. This action cannot be undone.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland, United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation. If resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be submitted to the courts of Scotland, United Kingdom.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
